I'm an independent software developer and usually have lots of apps and files open in different OS X Spaces. The time and hastle of rounding up files when transitioning projects resulted in my creating AppBoot to make life easier.

AppBoot has evolved because I use it. I track files used in my projects, and I like having a list of the files that were considered. With AppBoot, returning to a project I worked on months ago is incredibly easy and fast. Making changes to projects not touched in a long time has become far simpler. My daily workflow is far more streamlined.

Workspace - the environment where projects are designed and built
A workspace consists of the applications and files (project logos, icons, images, text, etc.) that you need to perform work on a project

Define feature

Name and create a record of the apps and files in each workspace

Just click Define and everything is recorded

Redefine whenever you want with one click

Restore feature

Reopens your project with one click

Easily change Spaces, select/deselect apps, minimize files

Transition from project to project quickly with Restore

Monitor - logging and display of project files
Review and retrieve the files you used or considered

Quick Look and AppBoot's custom viewer enable fast review
Facilitates fast editing of existing projects, months and years later

Boot Repair - reopen an app with all the files it had open at close
Quit too soon? Boot repair opens all those files that were open when you quit

All Monitored apps are displayed in an icon menu
Select a closed app to reopen it with all the files that were previously open

Timer - record time spent on a project, create simple billing

Select a range in Timer, click email and the billing is sent
Optional alert system reminds you to log out
Timer does not require that Monitor be in use
